At 9:28 AM on July 10, the new air separation unit of the 800,000 tons/year ethylene unit debottlenecking renovation and energy efficiency improvement project at Fushun Petrochemical Company was successfully handed over. The construction period of more than 130 days set the shortest record for similar units. The company’s Deputy General Manager Song Yuntong, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer Ren Xiaobing, leaders and representatives from the project design, construction, and supervision parties, as well as the ethylene project management team and staff from the olefin plant attended the handover ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by the company’s senior expert and executive deputy manager of the ethylene project, Yu Chenyi.
On behalf of the company, Song Yuntong expressed respect to all participating units and employees. He emphasized that the new air separation unit, as the first unit to be handed over in the 800,000 tons/year ethylene unit debottlenecking renovation and energy efficiency improvement project, is of great significance in ensuring stable production and high-quality development in the eastern plant area. Since the project started, all parties have worked collaboratively, strictly implementing the project’s "six major control" measures and "six standardizations" requirements, and rigorously controlling key milestones. The participating units and olefin plant staff overcame difficulties and worked overtime to complete the construction task with high quality and efficiency. The successful handover of the new air separation unit is not only a phased victory in the ethylene capacity expansion project but also a solid step towards the overall handover of the project.
During the handover ceremony, representatives from relevant units spoke and signed the interim handover certificate. The high-standard, high-quality handover of the new air separation unit has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent commissioning and start-up of the project. The 800,000 tons/year ethylene unit debottlenecking renovation and energy efficiency improvement project is a key project in the new era of Liaoning’s comprehensive revitalization and the creation of a trillion-yuan industrial base. It is a core engineering project to enhance the core competitiveness of Fushun Petrochemical Company, seize market opportunities, and achieve high-quality development, with a total investment of 2.58 billion yuan. The new air separation unit features advanced design, mature technology, and reliable performance. Its commissioning will effectively fill the nitrogen supply gap in various units of Fushun Petrochemical’s eastern plant area and provide strong gas supply support for the comprehensive construction and operation of the ethylene capacity expansion project.
