In response to the increasing demand for clean-conscious beauty products, BASF has unveiled Retinol 50, tailored to comply with industry clean lists by excluding BHA and BHT. These omissions align the product with the standards of clean beauty lists like Clean at Sephora and Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty. Retinol 50 boasts similar stability to BASF's Retinol 50C sans BHA/BHT, with both versions containing approximately 50% retinol. This offering aims to provide brands with greater ease in adhering to clean beauty standards while maintaining stability. Nader Mahmoud, Vice President Business Management for Personal Care North America at BASF, highlighted the company's commitment to meeting consumer and industry demands for clean-conscious beauty products through continuous portfolio optimization and innovation. BASF's focus on innovation in the retinol space is evident, with Retinol 50 being the latest addition to its wide range of retinol offerings, catering to various use cases and formulation requirements. The launch of Retinol 50 underscores BASF Personal Care's dedication to expanding its clean-conscious beauty solutions in the well-aging category, addressing not only signs of aging but also future challenges in sustainability, digitalization, and innovation, in line with the Care 360° approach – Solutions for Sustainable Life.
