Dow (NYSE: DOW) has unveiled NORDEL? REN Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymers (EPDM) at the German Rubber Conference (DKT) 2024. This new bio-based variant of Dow’s EPDM rubber targets applications in automotive, infrastructure, and consumer sectors, emphasizing sustainability by reducing Scope 3 emissions.
Aiming to support automotive, infrastructure, and consumer industries, Dow introduces NORDEL? REN EPDM, designed for automotive weatherseals, hoses, building profiles, roofing membranes, and wire and cable applications.

NORDEL? REN EPDM utilizes bio residues as raw materials, supporting the rubber industry in offering low-carbon products without competing with food resources. The product maintains performance equivalent to virgin materials, enabling seamless integration into existing processes without additional time or carbon emissions.
The production process adheres to ISCC PLUS certified mass balance principles, ensuring transparency and traceability of bio-based raw materials throughout the supply chain.
