On March 30, 2025, NHU announced on its interactive platform that the company's Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI) project, with an approved production capacity of 21,000 tons, has been put into operation in phases. The first phase of the project is now operational.
NHU's 21,000-Ton IPDI Project
It is reported that NHU's 21,000-ton Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI) capacity plan falls under the "New Energy Materials and Environmental Protection New Materials Project" (referred to as the "HA Project").
The project covers a total area of 30,814㎡ with a total building area of 74,118㎡. Leveraging existing facilities such as the circulating water station, liquid chlorine storage, and vaporization workshop, the project includes the construction of new tank areas, hazardous waste warehouses, and production workshops. Upon completion, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of:
- 103,000 tons of Hexamethylene Diisocyanate (HDI)
- 21,000 tons of Isophorone Diisocyanate (IPDI)
- 20,000 tons of Biuret (converted to pure form)
- 83,000 tons of HDI Trimer (converted to pure form)
- 40,000 tons of Isophorone Diamine (IPDA)
- By-products: 100,000 tons of Hydrogen Chloride (converted to pure form) and 6,400 tons of Ammonium Sulfate
The project is being constructed in phases. The first phase includes the establishment of IPDA production facilities, HDI and IPDI production units, Biuret production units, and Trimer production units. It also relies on common facilities such as phosgene synthesis units, CO purification units, and environmental protection facilities like RTO and waste gas incinerators. The first phase has an annual production capacity of:
- 20,000 tons of IPDA
- 3,000 tons of HDI
- 1,000 tons of IPDI
- 1,000 tons of Biuret (converted to pure form)
- 2,000 tons of Trimer (converted to pure form)
According to NHU's investor activity report released in March 2025, products such as HDI, ADI, and IPDA in the "New Energy Materials and Environmental Protection New Materials Project" have already been put into production, including:
- IPDA: 20,000 tons/year
- ADI: 4,000 tons/year
- HDI: 3,000 tons/year
Throughout 2024, the company focused on customer sampling and market expansion. Initial feedback from downstream customers has been positive. Large-scale production is still in the preparation stage, and approval procedures have been completed. The company will commence production based on market conditions.
About NHU's IPDI Product
IPDI: The "Golden Key" of High-End Polyurethane Materials
